AND A WONDERFUL STORY

Having always been a crossroads of cultures, once dominated by the Arabs, Bari is today an important bridge between the Catholic and Orthodox church in the name of St. Nicholas, patron of the city and also venerated in Russia.

The old town, protected by the wall, overlooks the sea and the characteristic fishing boats, distinguished by the presence of squares, palaces and narrow lanes.

A walk here means folklore, tradition and taste (it is easy to come across old ladies with a wooden board and knife preparing the typical ear-shaped pasta (‘orecchiette’) in the street). The scent of homemade pasta and freshly-baked bread is a perfect guide to use in town: so you will not be able to stop enjoying typical products, perhaps seasoned with good extra-virgin olive oil.
